1. About These Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the website findlaysdrycleaners.co.nz ("Website") and the dry cleaning, laundry, and related services ("Services") provided by Findlay's Drycleaners ("we", "us", or "our"). By using our Website or Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our Website or Services.

Findlay's Drycleaners is a family-owned dry cleaning and laundry business located at 65 King Street, Pukekohe 2120, New Zealand. We have been serving the Pukekohe and Franklin communities since the 1960s.

We provide professional garment care and related services, including:
- Dry Cleaning — Cleaning of suits, dresses, and delicate fabrics using eco-friendly solvents.
- Wedding Dress Cleaning & Preservation — Specialist cleaning and acid-free preservation boxing for bridal gowns.
- Commercial Laundry — Industrial laundry for restaurants, hotels, and businesses.
- Workwear & Uniforms — Cleaning and maintenance of commercial workwear and uniforms.
- Mat & Linen Hire — Commercial mat and linen rental services.
- Carpet & Rug Cleaning — Professional carpet and rug cleaning and restoration.
- Curtain Cleaning — Cleaning and freshening of curtains and drapes, with optional take-down and rehang service.
- Pickup & Delivery — Free pickup and delivery for qualifying orders across Pukekohe, Papakura, Waiuku, Drury, Tuakau, and Bombay.
4. Placing Orders
4.1 In-Store
You may bring garments and items to our store at 65 King Street, Pukekohe during business hours. Our staff will assess each item and provide a quote before cleaning commences.
4.2 Pickup & Delivery
You may book a pickup through our Website or by phone. We will collect your items, clean them, and return them to your address. Pickup and delivery is free for orders over $50 (NZD) within our standard service areas. A delivery fee may apply for smaller orders or locations outside our standard routes.
4.3 Online Booking
Online bookings are processed through CleanCloud, our booking and order management platform. When you book through CleanCloud, you may also be subject to CleanCloud's terms and conditions.
5. Pricing and Payment
Prices for our services are available on request and may vary depending on the garment type, fabric, condition, and treatment required. All prices are quoted in New Zealand Dollars (NZD) and include GST (Goods and Services Tax) at the prevailing rate.
We accept payment by cash, EFTPOS, and major credit and debit cards. Payment is due at the time of collection or delivery unless a commercial account arrangement has been agreed in writing.
6. Care and Handling of Your Items
6.1 Our Commitment
We exercise professional care and skill in handling and cleaning all garments and items entrusted to us. We follow manufacturer care instructions where provided and use cleaning methods appropriate to each fabric type and garment construction.
6.2 Inspection
We inspect all items before cleaning and will notify you if we identify any pre-existing damage, unusual stains, or conditions that may affect the cleaning outcome. Where we believe there is a risk that cleaning may damage an item, we will advise you before proceeding and seek your instructions.
6.3 Items Left for More Than 90 Days
Items not collected within 90 days of notification that they are ready for collection will be considered abandoned. We will attempt to contact you before disposing of any uncollected items.
7. Liability
7.1 Limitation of Liability
While we take every care with your garments, certain inherent risks exist with dry cleaning and laundry processes, including but not limited to colour loss, shrinkage, or damage caused by pre-existing conditions in fabrics or trims that are not visible upon inspection. Our liability for loss or damage to any garment is limited to a maximum of ten times the cleaning charge for that item, unless we have been negligent in our handling of the item.
7.2 Exclusions
We are not liable for damage or deterioration caused by:
- Inherent defects in the fabric, dye, or construction of the garment.
- Wear and tear, ageing, or degradation of materials.
- Incorrect care labelling by the garment manufacturer.
- Items left in pockets (including tissues, pens, coins, and personal items).
- Pre-existing stains or damage that cannot be removed by standard cleaning processes.
7.3 Consumer Guarantees Act 1993
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights or remedies you may have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (CGA). Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under New Zealand consumer law. If our services fail to meet a consumer guarantee, you are entitled to a remedy under the CGA, which may include having the service performed again, a refund, or compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss.
8. Claims and Disputes
If you believe any item has been damaged or lost while in our care, please notify us within 7 days of collection or delivery. We will investigate all claims promptly and in good faith.
If we are unable to resolve a dispute to your satisfaction, you may seek assistance from the Disputes Tribunal (for claims up to $30,000) or take legal action. We encourage direct communication to resolve issues before involving external bodies.
9. Website Use
9.1 General
Our Website is provided for informational purposes and to facilitate the booking of our Services. We make reasonable efforts to ensure the information on our Website is accurate and up to date, but we do not guarantee that all information is complete, current, or free of errors.
9.2 Intellectual Property
All content on our Website, including text, images, logos, and design elements, is the property of Findlay's Drycleaners or our licensors and is protected by New Zealand and international copyright laws. You may view and download content for personal, non-commercial use only. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use our content for commercial purposes without our prior written consent.

10. Commercial Accounts
Businesses using our commercial laundry, workwear, mat and linen hire, or other commercial services may be subject to additional terms as agreed in writing. Commercial account terms, including pricing, payment schedules, and service level agreements, will be documented separately and will prevail over these general Terms to the extent of any inconsistency.
11. Privacy
We collect, use, and protect your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. By using our Website and Services, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in our Privacy Policy.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New Zealand. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or our Services is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Zealand.
